St Mary Greenhithe

As you are probably aware by now the Government have given Places of Worship permission to open for private, personal prayer.

In light of this we have looked at how we can do this in St Mary’s.

We have decided that we can open a few times a week for up to 12 people at a time – this incorporates the social distancing rules. This can include couples or families, not just individuals.

We will therefore be open on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between the hours of 10 and 11.30am.

There will be a one-way system in place, so please follow the signs around the site and building.

We do ask that if you come you sanitise your hands as you enter and leave the church, either with the sanitiser provided or your own, and also sanitise your hands if you wish to light a candle.

There will be someone there, generally Mandy or Jen our Licensed Lay Ministers, to guide you to where you can sit – although we have sectioned areas off.

If you wish to bring your own Bible or prayer book, notebook or any other aid to your prayer time please do so as we cannot provide anything that could be shared.

We apologise for the list of rules, but this keeps us within the Government and Church of England guidelines and keeps you safe.

We hope this will give you a time where you can come and be quiet with God, and find some peace.

Our Facebook page contains details of how to join others online for prayer, worship, study, and community life.

The churchwardens and LLM’s of this church can be contacted in an emergency Paul White; Ben White; Mandy Holloway or Jennie White.
or emailing :
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength . . . Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
